App Store keyword field checker

Paste your app name, subtitle and keyword field. It checks them against Apple's own rules, shows every wasted character, and gives you a cleaner field to copy. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Your results appear here as you type.

Or try the example: a real app name and subtitle with a keyword field full of common mistakes.

Questions

How many characters is the App Store keyword field?

100 characters, with terms separated by commas and no spaces. The app name and subtitle can each be 30 characters.

Should I put spaces after commas in the keyword field?

No. Apple's format is commas with no spaces, for example habit, tracker, streak. A space after each comma uses characters you could spend on keywords.

Do plurals count as separate keywords?

Apple says plurals of words you've already included are considered duplicates. Keep one form of each word.

Can I use competitor names in my keywords?

No. Apple's guidance says not to use competing app names, trademarks or celebrity names, and doing so can get your app rejected.

Can people see my keyword field?

No. The keyword field is set in App Store Connect and isn't shown on your App Store page. The app name and subtitle are shown.
